Metal Mechanics, Inc. has a long and rich history in metal fabrication and press manufacturing, a history that has served as a foundation for us to become one of the leading hydraulic press manufacturers in the country. From humble beginnings as a small shop in the Midwest, to a present-day leader of innovation in custom hydraulic presses, Metal Mechanics has worked hard to ensure our customers receive high quality service with every project we’ve done.
A History of Excellence in Manufacturing
Metal Mechanics was established in Kalamazoo, MI, by George and Lillian Bingham in 1951. They started as a local machining and fabrication shop, supporting factories who wanted help with building custom equipment for production needs. After twenty years of building custom machines, we built our first custom press, and its performance helped us gain a widespread reputation throughout the die-cast industry for reliable equipment. Over the next several decades, we continued to build custom hydraulic presses for our customers, slowly shifting our focus to specialize solely in the industry as our facility expanded. By 2017, we had moved into our current facility, which allows us to manufacture an even wider range of custom presses to meet our customers’ specific needs.
A Present Day Leader in Hydraulic Press Manufacturing
Today, Metal Mechanics, Inc. is one of the most experienced manufacturers of custom hydraulic presses across a wide range of industries. We can provide our customers with a single unit or an entire revamp of their hydraulic presses. We can design and build a brand new press or get an old one rebuilt and upgraded to meet modern-day production demands. And we do it all in-house, each day striving to find new ways to innovate on existing technologies and solve the challenges of modern-day manufacturing. We build custom hydraulic presses for industries that require utmost precision, like automotive and aerospace manufacturing, and metal casting, and we ensure that each press exactly meets or exceeds our customers’ expectations.
