Metal Mechanics: A Trusted Custom Hydraulic Press Manufacturer

Metal Mechanics is proud of our rich history in the metal fabrication industry, starting with our humble beginnings in Kalamazoo, MI, to our choice to specialize in custom hydraulic presses, and our newest expansion featuring expansive workspace for presses up to 30 feet and 200 tons of force.

1951

Kalamazoo was at the height of a manufacturing boom when George and Lillian Bingman established Metal Mechanics as a local machining and fabrication shop. Soon after, factories began turning to Metal Mechanics to help build custom equipment for their production needs.

1971

After developing custom equipment solutions for a wide range of requirements, Metal Mechanics built its first custom press. Our reputation for producing reliable equipment that exceeded expectations quickly spread throughout the die-cast industry.

1983

After proudly serving their customers for over 30 years, the Binghams sold Metal Mechanics to two long-term employees, James and Barbara Dailey, who spent the next 20 years expanding Metal Mechanics' reputation as the leading provider of custom hydraulic presses for the die-cast industry.

1994

We realized that we could better serve our customers by focusing on what we did best: creating reliable custom hydraulic presses capable of withstanding harsh manufacturing conditions.

2007

The Daileys sold Metal Mechanics to two of their children, Tom and Elizabeth, who continue to invest in innovative solutions to maintain Metal Mechanic’s forward momentum.

2017

We moved into our newest expansion, providing a sprawling 30,000-square-foot facility capable of manufacturing hydraulic presses up to 30 feet tall.

2024

To better serve our customers across industries, we revamped our website to provide a more detailed look into our innovative solutions for custom hydraulic presses.
