About Us
Established in 1951 by George and Lillian Bingham as a machining and fabrication shop in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
Soon after establishment, Metal Mechanics began building special machines needed by Kalamazoo’s many factories. The ability to build special machines lead to the first press, built in 1971, for a local die caster.
Now concentrating solely on hydraulic presses, primarily for the metal casting industry, Metal Mechanics, Inc. has become the benchmark for metal trimming presses amongst the die cast industry. By focusing on quality and value, trimming presses have been sold and delivered to over 260 different die casting companies over the last 51 years.
Now beginning our 71st year in business, we are proud to announce the completion of the 8th expansion since 1951 with the opening of a new 30,000 square foot hydraulic press manufacturing facility. The new facility is designed to allow the manufacture of hydraulic presses weighing over 80,000 pounds, up to 30’ tall and the ability to generate over 200 tons of force.
