Metal Casting Equipment

Customizing Hydraulic Presses for the Metal Casting Industry for Over 50 Years

Custom Solutions Built From Experience

Metal Mechanics started in the metal casting industry by providing durable tooling and dies. We then shifted to custom factory equipment, which led to our expansive growth and ultimate specialization in custom hydraulic presses. Today, we combine our metal casting equipment expertise with state-of-the-art technology to develop custom solutions for our customers.

As die-cast machines continue to get larger, the trim press has to be larger, too. The most challenging aspect is making sure the platens and tie bars used on the frame can support the tonnage. We must ensure the press frame’s integrity will stand up to the rigors of trimming castings for decades of use over three shifts a day and sometimes seven days a week.

Using Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software allows us to model the load induced and make necessary changes to the frame before any material is purchased. Prior to using FEA software, with tonnages increasing considerably, the mindset was to “throw more steel at it.” FEA software helps us not to overbuild the frame, reducing costs for material, handling, and transportation.

Enhance Your Manufacturing Capabilities

Custom metal casting equipment is the ideal opportunity to enhance your manufacturing capabilities with value-added features, such as robotic interfacing for loading and unloading operations, reducing cycle time, and increasing production capabilities while lowering labor requirements. Our hydraulic presses are designed to seamlessly integrate into automated manufacturing processes and manual shops, providing cost-effective solutions for all production volume requirements.

Every custom hydraulic press is built to current ANSI/OSHA standards, ensuring worker safety throughout operation. As a proudly certified UL 508A builder, we ensure each panel meets strict quality standards.

Upgrade Your Metal Casting Equipment

Here at Metal Mechanics, we believe in providing cost-effective solutions for our customers, and that includes extending the life of their metal casting equipment by stripping it down to the frame and rebuilding it from the ground up. This not only ensures their remanufactured presses will fit their casting cell structure but also provides them opportunities to include additional safety and quality control measures with modern components and technology without investing in whole new equipment.
